Dundas Valley is a post-war valley suburb shaped by Ponds Creek, largely built by the NSW Housing Commission from 1950.

Around 1,850 dwellings were substantially finished by 1959, modest brick and brick-veneer cottages on the valley slopes, now sitting alongside later infill and townhouse redevelopment near Yates Avenue.
